| It's never too early to start planning ahead. We've taken the time to compile a short list of bands for next year's Dillo Day, because A&O has more funding and the word is out about the fantastic Northwestern crowd. Fantastic. Energetic even. So check out our list and feel free to tell us yours. Send suggestions to Josh at his e-mail address (j-pool@nwu.edu) and he'll get back to you as soon as he can with the probability of the band you want stepping foot on the Lakefill in 2001. The List: Herbie Hancock: Nobody puts his signature on a festival like Herbie. Smashing Pumpkins: Oh. Sorry. Nevermind. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones: Wooten's bass would blow the roof off the sky. Madonna: One note of "Ray of Light" and I'm wet. The Disco Biscuits: Hopefully a reappearance for this group (1998). Medeski, Martin, and Wood: The Three Stooges of jazz are no strangers to NU. Patchouli: House band at Borders in Winnetka secures first big "gig" on the lakefill. Dexy's Midnight Runners: A special number "Come On Bienen." Maceo Parker: Former James Brown horn player would funk up the night. Dark Star Orchestra: Perhaps the best Grateful Dead cover band out there. Blind Melon: Continuing with the dead frontman headliner theme. Bronson Pinchot: C'mon, that "Cousin Larry" bit just cracks me up. George Clinton: This Clinton definitely inhales from the crack pipe. |
