Dear Readers,

I’m not quite sure how or when it happened, but they tell me I’m just about to pull up at the end of my Northwestern career. With one month left of Spring Quarter, I’m holding on to every last drop of college life. They’re telling me it’s time to grow up. I’m trying not to listen.

This is one of those times in life where everything is “your last.” It’s the last quarter, the last paper, last final, last class, and sadly enough the last Dillo Day. Oh, sweet, sweet Dillo Day. And after an absolutely incredible three-year stint, it’s also my last issue of NUcomment. That is, unless I pull a Slade Sohmer and continue to write a column for the next two years. Hey, anything is possible.

Who knows where I’ll be? Most certainly it won’t be here and hopefully it will involve a beach in Chile or Costa Rica. But, like many NUcomment editors before me, I will wrap-up my last NUcomment having no idea what the next few years have in store for me.

This has all been quite an interesting ride, to say the least, and I know I’ll leave Northwestern with more flavorful memories than I can imagine. Although many have been lost in fits of drunken debauchery, I know I’ll bring many fond ones of NUcomment with me as I depart – everything from my first article on vaginas, to editorial brainstorming “sessions,” to sitting in this hard-as-hell IKEA chair for days at a time writing and editing like a slave, my roommates and friends wondering if I’ll ever resurface.

But fear not my dedicated readers. Although I will not be here to grace you with my good looks and editorial prowess any longer, the Comment shall live on. The torch gets passed down once again and NUcomment will be open for business for at least another full year. Luke and Slade passed it to me and now I have the pleasure of leaving the reins in the hands of your favorite NUcomment rock star and mine, Evan Benn. I leave you in good hands, actually the best. Not only has Evan recently been named Pennsylvania’s Most Promising Journalist (no joke), but he’s simply a stellar individual, not to mention a pimp. So, without further ado, I hand you over to your new editor-in-chief and say good-bye.

I hope you enjoy. Keep reading. And don’t forget to tell everyone you know, friends and strangers alike.

Thanks again for a great run.

Sincerely,

Sandra Keats
Editor-in-Chief
