Editor's Note

Sometimes starting a new school year can feel like you’re getting swarmed by a cloud of locusts- or maybe that’s because I had that experience last week here in Senegal.

Wherever you might find yourself this fall, the commencement of classes, hordes of freshman, a new roommate, and all other issues that plague returning students have arrived in full force.

NUcomment returns to you this fall with a talented and diverse staff, ready to tackle the floods of changes coming your way.

It was raining men, not frogs, when Bahar took to the streets to cover the latest fad for the relationship-lacking singles of Chicago: Speed-Dating. Amanda Junker raises a hailstorm about the face of Campus Politics today when she investigates Northwestern’s Party scene. Floods of trash filled Will Johnson’s summer- read I Know What You Dumped” and count your summer internship as a blessing. Think mark of the first born was bad? Explore what makes the mark of the Campus Whore with A. Sinderbrand.

This issue is stacked with everything you need to start your fall quarter armed and ready to take on the world- sports reviews, music, and the changes that have taken place in Evanston since we last checked in. We have new columns for your enjoyment, and even a rant or two for old time’s sake.

The staff of NUcomment invites you in for a break from the fall flurry, and joins me in welcoming you back for another jam-packed fall semester. Good luck, and watch out for the locusts.
